AWS IoT security resources

Security of Internet of Things is stretched from on-premise devices all the way to cloud services. It is a difficult and complex topic.

I gathered some crucial materials to help you navigate in this space.

Securing Internet of Things (IoT) with AWS

On 20th of December 2021, AWS published an updated version of Securing IoT with AWS whitepaper.

It is a complete overview of AWS security services designed to protect IoT deployments; a must-read for everyone interested in building IoT solutions on AWS.

IoT Lens - AWS Well-Architected Framework

IoT Lens focus on how to design, architect, and deploy Internet of Things workloads in the AWS Cloud.

In addition to AWS Cloud best practices, this document also covers the impact, considerations, and recommendations for connecting physical assets to the internet.

Security Pillar of the AWS Well-Architected Framework

The focus of this paper is the security pillar of the AWS Well-Architected Framework. It provides guidance to apply best practices, recommendations in the design, delivery, and maintenance of secure AWS workloads.

AWS Well-Architected Framework is not strictly related to the Internet of Things, but it covers best practices that can (and should) be applied in IoT designs.

Security in AWS IoT - Developer Guide

The official AWS documentation covers multiple security-oriented topics (including authentication, authorization, data protection) of IoT deployments at AWS Cloud.

I hope that above links will help you keep IoT deployments secure (both on-prem and in the AWS Cloud).
